Citizen Xenos

Documentary, 63 ΄, 2018

Synopsis: Set against the turbulent atmosphere of the refugee-ridden island of Lesbos, Citizen Xenos is a feature length documentary exploring the intense life changes of refugees, volunteers and locals in the middle of the biggest humanitarian crisis of our time. The film illustrates themes of loss, separation, relocation and resettlement through “slices of life” realism and captivating cinematic imagery. Each person’s perspective and emotional state in the story is unconsciously connected by the concept of “Xenos”: someone feeling like a stranger, unwelcome or different be it in a foreign land, his own land or his own skin.

Lucas Paleocrassas
He was born in Athens, Greece. He has been shooting pictures and editing videos from 12 years old, having an inclination towards music, writing and storytelling. He holds a BA in communications and journalism from the American College of Greece and is a recipient of Libra Group’s scholarship program that earned him post-graduate work in a Production & Distribution Company based in Los Angeles. Since 2015 he has been actively involved in the European migrant crisis, documenting and presenting the stories of refugees arriving in Greece in his debut feature documentary “Citizen Xenos”.
